One Book, One Community: a Summer's Worth  of Programs in Just One Month!

Community Read: Experience the pulse-pounding terror of The Beast, the rallying cry of the conch shell, the struggle to survive against all odds: join us in reading William Golding’s classic Lord of the Flies. This July, dare take a peek into the dark side of human nature with the KFL One Book, One Community Read; if you’ve never read this book or read it years ago, a reading of this allegorical story is in order. Copies of the book will be available to borrow.

• An Introduction to Birds at Sea by local bird expert and Education Chair of York County Audubon, June Ficker on 7/12

• A visit by Dave Jourdan speaking about his newest book The Deep Sea Quest for Amelia Earhart on 7/14

• Author Patricia Hughes will talk about her recent book, Maine’s Waterfalls on 7/15

• The Fish Connection: Current Issues of Fish Habitat and Local Watershed Health Presentation on 7/15

• Focus Sea and Shore Photography Workshop with Gregory Rec on 7/20

• A visual presentation, Shipwrecks of the Kennebunks, by Sharon Cummings and Barbara Barwise on 7/22

• Beachcomber Trivia Night on 7/28

• Beach-themed Movie Nights, with a grand finale outdoor showing of a 1964 Beach Classic.
