One Book, One
Community: Lord of the Flies Book Discussion
In
1998, the Seattle Public Library and the Washington Center for the Book
introduced the One Book, One Community program. For one month, they encouraged
everyone in the community to read the same book at the same time in an attempt
to bring the community together through the power of literature. It was a huge
success, and since then, has become an extremely popular program throughout the
country and around the world.
In that spirit, the Kennebunk Free Library encourages you to join
us in our month-long celebration and exploration of William Golding’s classic,
Lord of the Flies. If you’ve been meaning to read this since high
school, now is your chance! Copies of the book are available to borrow at the
Library. You will have two opportunities to commiserate with fellow readers on
the plot, style and final resolution. Join in the month-long surrounding this
classic during the month of July at KFL.
Book Discussion Groups will
be held on:
Tuesday 7/13 6:30 PM
Thursday 7/22 11 AM
