The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA) invites all teens (aged 12-18) to vote for their favorite book from last year.  Teens' Top Ten allows teens to voice their choice for their favorite books each year -- it's the only reading list with titles nominated and voted on by teens.  Voting is open now through Sept. 15th, 2012  To vote, click here

The Kennebunk Free Library serves the diverse needs of the teen community and provides a welcoming environment for teens to experience the library.  An  extensive teen collection includes books, movies, magazines, manga, graphic novels, audio books, and MARVEL, an online periodicals and newspapers database.  The Kennebunk Free Library has many fun and exciting programs for teens including book groups, a gaming club, teen movie night, and anime club.  An active Teen Advisory Board helps make the library a relevant place for teens. 


How do we decide what goes into the Children’s Room, and what goes into the Teen Zone?

People sometimes ask what the cutoff is for titles in the Children’s Room vs. the Teen Zone. At what age can children start reading the Teen Books? There is not a clear, black and white delineation. Since everyone has different values, the decision is best left up to the people who know the children best, namely their parents.
