Who Are the Friends?Friends
are people who care about libraries and who believe in what
libraries represent
Friends provide support in many ways and are recognized by
the Library and the community for their sustaining influence.
Friends are individuals who are interested in promoting the
Kennebunk Free Library by improving library services, resources,
and the library's role in the community.
What Do Friends
Do?
Friends stimulate public support for
the use of the Library
Friends underwrite special library programs for children and
adults.
Friends assist in maintaining, improving, and enlarging Library
resources and services.
Friends raise funds to support programs and grant gifts to the
Library. Primary fund raisers are three annual book/bake sales
and the ongoing book sale.
Most recently, when presented a "wish list" by librarian Janet Cate, members responded by
approving the following requests-thanks to the success of recent
fundraising efforts. Funded projects include:
- A new laserjet color printer
- Subscription support for audio books on CD
- Subscription support for large print books
- Annual postage for the KFL monthly newsletter
- Support for improvements to the Maine Children's Book Illustrators

- Funds for additional DVDs for youth and adult film programs
Thanks for all the community support-and we welcome your book
donations. The schedule of book and bake sales for 2008
is: May 3, 2008, July 12, 2008, and December 6, 2008. All are on Saturday and run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Friends' regular meetings scheduled for 2008 are: February 13th,
April 17th, September 18th, an November 13th,
all at 11:30 AM in Hank's Room. .Pizza will be served. Please join us.

Membership
The Friends of the Kennebunk Free Library welcomes new members. Membership dues go toward a variety of projects that promote and support the library and its services. We encourage members to actively participate in all our activities.
There are three levels of membership:
