A native of Connecticut,
Nancy spent her summers at her grandparents’ cottage on the Maine coast. After
graduating from the University of Connecticut with a BFA in Art, Nancy lived in
and around Boston, finally ending up in Marblehead where she met her husband
David. In 1980, they moved to Kennebunkport and opened the Cooper Funk Gallery
which closed in 2002. At that time, David built Nancy a studio/gallery in the
midst of their enchanting perennial gardens, which she shares with her cat Ellie
May.
Nancy is a fine artist and
illustrator specializing in detailed ink drawings combined with watercolors. She
created the ink drawings in the children’s books “Scraggly the Stowaway Cat” and
“Scraggly’s New Home”, both written by Tom Bradbury. Nancy welcomes
commissions and loves making custom paintings for others, creating a cherished
memory for them of their pets, homes, children and favorite places. She also
creates illustrations for invitations, menus, brochures, CD cover art and more.
Additional information is available at her studio and on her website:
